Poker Flat Open House

Visit the only university-owned rocket range, located in the heart of the Interior’s gold-mining district — Chatanika on July 19! Poker Flat Research Range has launched sounding rockets since 1969, but has recently grown to include a fleet of unmanned aircraft.
You’re invited to tour the range, view models of unmanned aircraft and learn the history of this exciting site that draws scientists from around the world at this special Golden Days event.
The Rockets and Gold: Poker Flat Research Range Open House runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 19. Admission is free!
Poker Flat is located at Mile 30 on the Steese Highway in Chatanika.
