Continued unsettled aurora forecast

The aurora forecast tonight is quiet to unsettled. This means we should see quiet displays in the interior of Alaska, with the possibility of a bigger burst at various times. No one knows the times of when or if it will happen, just anytime overnight. The Kp level as of this post is 2, but keep in mind, we saw a great show in North Pole the other night at Kp 0.

The temperatures remain very cold. Right now it’s -20F at my house in North Pole. At these temperatures, camera batteries drain fast, so plan accordingly. Winds kept most folks home the past couple of nights near Anchorage.

You can enjoy the aurora from your computer or smartphone by watching the cam at www.AlaskaAuroraCam.com/
