Heads up for aurora tonight–if the weather is clear

This morning, as the sun was rising in Alaska, the first of 2 CME’s hit. Data is looking good for auroras tonight in Alaska, if the weather is clear, and as soon as it is dark. The Kp level at 430pm is 4, and we could see it go higher. If it does go higher, then the aurora may be seen further south, such as southern Canada, and the very upper portion of the contiguous USA.

As it looks now, the weather may block our view. Check your weather and if it is clear, have a look for auroras. Is it worth driving a bit to find clear skies? Yes I would, especially if tonight is your only chance at seeing the lights.
