I’m not sure why the Geo Phys Institute forecast a Kp 4. Looking at all the data, it just didn’t add up. There may be a small aurora overnight. Tomorrow night is looking good for aurora (Wed night/Thurs morn). How about the lunar eclipse tonight instead? It starts at 315am and peaks at 515am Alaska…

The aurora can be seen in North Pole and Fairbanks. There is a big band sweeping across the sky. Temperature is -23F and the Kp level is a 1 so far. Reported also in Eagle River.

It is really nice to see that the scientists were wrong, and it wasn’t “just me”. It is very validating.
