Higher Kp levels last couple nights

The Kp level finally hit 5 (G1) a couple times in the past 2 nights, but those of us in Fairbanks and Anchorage were clouded over for the most part. Southeast Alaska did report auroras several times! And Valdez, Cordova, Girdwood, and Seward caught the show. Some states (MN, WI, ND, WA +more) and Canada did see the lights.

Good news for Alaskans to try again, more storm level auroras predicted by Oct 7/8. Tonight, the forecast is quiet to active. If it’s clear, we’ll see lights. Kp 2 or 3 expected.
