Quiet aurora forecast plus clouds and rain
The aurora forecast for tonight is quiet with a potential Kp level of 2. If the skies are clear, then Fairbanks may see a little green tonight. Look north. Nothing exciting is forecast. It may be faint at times. If you are away from light pollution (the city, streetlights, car lights), then the faint aurora is easy to see. Simply driving south on the Richardson Hwy toward North Pole from Fairbanks and the northern lights become clear immediately. For more places to find good viewing in the Fairbanks area see Where To Go.
For Anchorage and south central areas, the Kp level is not high enough to reach your area.
Just wanted to send out a post, since its been rainy and quiet lately.
