incoming CME, side swipe, may produce auroras tonight Kp 6
Currently, at 530pm Alaska time, the Kp level is 2. If a Coronal Mass Ejection arrives at earth tonight as predicted, we could see a brief period of Kp 6 storm level auroras. The CME is forecast as side swiping the earth, as opposed to a direct hit. Should you go out to catch the aurora? If the weather is clear, yes. Head on out closer to 11pm and later (up until sunrise), unless we get word that the CME has hit earlier.
Alaska, Canada, and northern states have a good chance at the lights tonight.

There was no timeframe, just anytime. However, it never showed as forecast.
