Quiet nights and clouds

Nothing to report this night as we have quiet skies and clouds covering much of Alaska. I hope you enjoyed some sleep on this Palm Sunday.

Back on March 11, we had a great aurora storm. Here is a fine collection of photos and a message from our friend Terry at Northern Exposure Photography:

Hello Friends! Our photos from the amazing night of 11, March 2016, G1 Geomagnetic Storm at the Donnelly Creek Recreation Area are posted.
We would like to sincerely thank those who have already purchased prints. We would not be where we are without you!

Aurora forecast for 3-17/18-16

Tonight’s aurora forecast calls for quiet to active auroras, with the high Kp level most likely a 2 or 3. This means that Fairbanks and the interior of Alaska may see the lights tonight. Anchorage has a less chance of seeing the lights, due to a low Kp level and clouds. Mid to northern Canada may see lights.

Have a great night!
