last night in Minnesota
The past 2 nights have been great for aurora watchers in Minnesota, and other states in the northern USA. Check out this photo from a cornfield in Minnesota. Photo: Warren Gammel
The kp level rose to an 8 for a short time last night, but maintained a level 6 most of the night (2nd night in a row). The storm continues tonight, although it is weakening (currently a 3). Those in higher latitudes where it gets dark should see a show. Alaskans wait another month for the sun to set.
