The aurora has been hanging on the horizon in the Fairbanks areas for more than an hour now, we are still waiting for it to get better. Despite the weather websites declaring it is clear out there, there is in fact plenty of clouds around the area, especially North Pole. So, in summary, there will be a visible aurora sometime soon, don’t know when! If you are on top the hill, you may be able to see it. The only place reporting aurora now is Ft Yukon, and of course our favorite Yellowknife. Current Kp 3.
UPDATED 1030pm: Aurora seen in Fairbanks areas, lower on the horizon in the Anchorage areas, as well as Homer, Delta, Fox. Kp 1! More substorms expected throughout the night.
