ANOTHER great forecast tonight, current Kp level is 4

I feel like I should just cut and paste the last couple of posts. Tonight is yet another night of potential aurora storms. The current Kp level is 4. In a nutshell, this means great auroras for Alaska. As soon as it gets dark, we should be seeing lights. Be ready!!

The past couple of nights were forecast great, but only “typical” bands of aurora were seen, and not at storm level.

More auroras tonight! A G1 storm watch is in effect. The temperatures in the interior are still pretty brutal, so make sure you have the right clothing and emergency gear when heading out. Happy Friday night, everyone!
