Last night no CME but some auroras seen

Last night, we hoped for at least a glancing blow, but the CME was determined to not be earth directed. This means that the big show was not seen, only a short dancing aurora about 5am. Haze, clouds, and icy particles in the air prevented some of the viewing. For detailed information see NOAA Space Weather.

Auroras are still possible tonight and tomorrow night. The forecast is for G1 storms with a Kp index of 5 possible. Updated forecast comes out at 2pm, I’ll post again if anything changes. Happy hunting!
