Tonight, there is an incoming CME. The prediction is G1 storm (Kp 5). The data, as of this post at 6 pm, does not look very good for auroras, so as of now, the prediction is hours away. Clouds and snow in the Fairbanks area, clearer in the Anchorage area and the Valley areas. The aurora may also be seen in the upper portion of the contiguous USA, if the CME hits before the sun rises. Should you go out tonight? My opinion is not yet. Wait for the data to improve.
