auroras finally!
the aurora is overhead in the Fairbanks and Delta Junction areas. Also Tok, Eielson AFB reporting in. MatSu Valley low on the horizon. Clouds in some areas. Kp 3. The Bz has swung north, so expect more if it should swing south.
CME hit!
ACE satellite has detected the incoming CME. Be on the lookout for auroras tonight. All areas of AK predicted.
faint tonight so far
the aurora is out in the Fairbanks area, but very faint and low on the horizon. It can be seen from atop Cleary Summit, but not very strong. Kp 1. Small, faint bursts seen in the MatSu for a very short period.
