At 10:20 or so, the lights came out in Fairbanks. They are faint, but could be ramping up for a show. The Kp level is 0 and the Bz is north. Awaiting the southward Bz!

Auroras expected Saturday night, Sunday morning
A G1 storm is forecast for Saturday night due to an incoming CME. If it does hit, then expect auroras in Alaska Saturday night into Sunday morning. Kp 5 is forecast.
Aurora spikes and spirals
The aurora can be seen toward the north in the Fairbanks area, in vertical lines, spikes and spirals. Some fog in areas as well. Kp 0. Time 1225am.

The aurora is overhead in the Fairbanks area, Kp 2. Expect more tonight, and also tomorrow night. Edit: auroras being seen in the MatSu Valley at 11:40, Anchorage reporting low on the horizon at midnight.
