Quiet tonight, active tomorrow night

There has been a lot of activity on the sun the past few days. This means a high likelihood of auroras. Tonight the forecast is quiet. This means if the aurora comes out, it will be at high latitudes, maybe low on the horizon, or short and sweet. Wednesday is forecast active, and Thursday into Friday morning is forecast G1 storm levels, with Kp 5 possible. We are on alert for a CME arrival sometime in the next day or two. With a coronal mass ejection, a big display is possible! Be ready every night this week!

The forecast changes daily. We’ll update as we go along.
