Tonight, quiet to active Kp 4 possible

Nothing of note last night, let’s try again tonight. The forecast is quiet to active aurora displays, with NOAA Space Weather extending their prediction of Kp 4. We are rapidly running out of dark sky at night. Look for the northern lights after 11pm, and before 6am in the interior of Alaska.

Also tonight (tomorrow morning) is the lunar eclipse. Alaska will see the show starting at 2am, with totality at 4:02am. The moon sets soon after that and the sun rises. I am hoping for some great photos posted by all of you.
