Tonight, Kp 2, Tuesday night, Kp 5 possible
Tonight, the aurora forecast is showing Kp 2 possible. Only interior and northern Alaska may see lights, unless the Bz is southward and the speed is high…this would help push the aurora a bit more south, in which case Anchorage would see lights on the northern horizon (although this can happen, it is not too common to see lights in Anchorage at Kp 2). Tomorrow night (Tuesday night/ Wed morning), the forecast is for possible Kp 5 due to a coronal hole high speed stream. The entire state of Alaska, Canada, and the upper portion of the contiguous USA may catch the lights. Clouds in Alaska may block our views of the aurora.
