Here I thought I was about done for the aurora season in Fairbanks….During our very short window of darkness, the aurora keeps on dancing. Another night of auroras are predicted tonight. Data is looking fantastic. April 23/24 (Kp 5), 24/25 (Kp 4), and 25/26 (Kp 4) all forecast highly likely auroras. Be ready for lights…
Auroras continue tonight across Canada and Alaska. Auroras are possible in the northern states bordering Canada. G2 storming, Kp 6. Fairbanks is dark enough for lights from about midnight to 3am.
Heads up for auroras tonight in all of Canada and Alaska and possibly the northern states. Kp 6 possible. Currently Kp 5. Dark hours in Alaska are after 11pm in the interior, after 10 further south. Sun light is about 3am in the interior and after 4am further south.
