    1. Do you mean you received the email late? I subscribe to myself and it is almost instant. I wrote this post when I knew the good auroras were imminent. This (the great solar winds and trending southward Bz) cannot be predicted more than a day in advance unless it is a CME with arrival times.

    1. Yes, if it is apparent that it will happen. You’ll want to watch for Kp 5 or higher. You didn’t state your exact location. You can get free email alerts from NOAA Space Weather for geomagnetic storm watches and warnings. This is when they think a Kp 5 or higher will happen. Although a Kp level is no guarantee of auroras, it is an indicator that there is a possibility. The watches and warnings can be several hours in advance. I will typically make a similar post about it, but NSW will give you the exact data as it happens, whereas I may be asleep or at work. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/content/subscription-services
