Displays short and weak lately
The last few days have been either cloudy, or the aurora has only been seen in the early morning hours for only short periods. By early morning, we mean 3am, 4am. Even though the kp index rose to a 4 one night, and other factors looked pretty good for us to see the aurora here in Alaska, it just didn’t happen. Brief but exciting displays were seen in some areas with no clouds and off on the horizon facing the northeast (like on top Cleary Summit). Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Scotland reported aurora, as well as Canada.
Beautiful. I don’t see much of the Northern Lights up where I’m at; too far North!
