Many want to know if the storm continues again tonight. Here is an update: Tonight's Aurora forecast is Kp 5. We are still under a category G3 storm watch (Kp 7), which means there's still a possibility of good auroras, however conditions have diminished considerably. The current data as of this post is:Solar winds 673 km/sec, Bt 11, Bz +11, HPI 17GW, Kp 3. If we compare this data to last night (Oct 10/11), we saw solar winds close to 800, Bt 46, Bz -45 (at it's lowest), HPI 311GW, Kp 8. It is likely Aurora may only be seen in the typical aurora zone and possibly southern Canada or northern border states. For Europe, if the Bz flips to southward before the sun rises, there is a chance of lights again further south than normal. Last night was fantastic! So many people shared photos and stories.
