aurora overhead in Fairbanks

Byauroranotify October 12, 2013October 12, 2013

The aurora is overhead and also on the horizon in the Fairbanks area. Mainly a green band, but pinks are also visible. Surprise event, no doubt, since the forecast was quiet. Kp 1.

Palmer Alaska! Clouds in many other areas, check your skies!

The #Auroraborealis is visible tonight. Our first clear night this fall. iPhone picture makes, with 3 second exposure so pic is much brighter than your eye would see, but it’s still impressive tonight.
