tonight’s forecast quiet to unsettled plus rocket launch

The data is looking decent tonight for auroras in the Fairbanks area.

They may launch rockets tonight at Poker Flat. It almost happened last night! Follow along at the MTeXPFRR facebook page. They’ll post updates late into the night. If you’re out, be sure to know which direction is toward Chatanika, to see the launch for yourself. You can see it from some areas of Chena Lakes, areas past Fox, Cleary Summit, etc. They close the Steese Hwy near Poker Flat (just past Chatanika Lodge) during the launch window.
