Happy Valentine’s Day aurora is likely tonight

Aurora forecast looking good for tonight Feb 13/14 for mid to northern Canada and for interior Alaska, with possible aurora low on the horizon from Anchorage, all weather cooperative, of course.

Last week the aurora put on a very fast and explosive pink display. So awesome to see it with the naked eye. Aurora activity was good, with green bands and swirls, when all of a sudden, the pink appeared and took over rippling through the sky ever so fast. Many couldn’t capture it because typical aurora photography settings were just too much for the fast pinks. Photographers quickly lowered the shutter speed while enjoying the show!
