Along the famous “Ice Road” or Dalton Highway, there lies a stretch of some of Alaska’s most picturesque winter scenery. A personal favorite Aurora location for Ronn, this location offers amazing views of a frozen world not seen anywhere else. Witness first hand, the magical frost covered Black Spruce trees and snow blanketed valleys as the Aurora dances overhead. Stunning photos seem to appear around every bend as we traverse this photographers paradise on our way to the Arctic Circle.
Enjoy a dynamic variety of breathtaking Alaskan terrains along the 200 mile journey North of Fairbanks.
This is an all-day trip and includes several historic site visits along the way, including an informative visit to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and stops along the historic Livengood-Tolovana Mining District in the White Mountains region. Then we explore the Dalton Highway, cross the mighty Yukon River and head North to the Arctic Circle.
This tour is a rustic experience for those wishing to truly appreciate Alaska’s natural winter beauty and join a select few in crossing the Arctic Circle. Seeing Alaska’s winter wildlife is always a possibility along this route and Northern Lights are common on the return trip.
A brown bag meal & water will be included but you may wish to bring along extra snacks if desired. Energy drinks are always a good idea for this trip as well. But keep in mind facilities along this road are outhouses.
This tour will include *photography instruction* on landscape and Aurora photography. Composition, gear and settings will be discussed as well as shooting in the cold. This tour also includes portraits of guests in front of the Aurora (pending Aurora conditions of course).
