We had a great time driving around town taking photos. The moon was bright, so many were washed out. We are not professional photographers, but we like to try. It’s fun, and you should give it a try. Here are a few from North Pole, about midnight tonight.
Aurora has been seen and reported from North Pole, Fox, Fairbanks, and other outlying areas. Faint at times, long stripes, and large swirls. Lots of clouds and a full moon. It has been an interesting night!
The aurora is predicted to make an appearance tonight come nightfall. Most areas of Alaska with no clouds should see displays.
After deciphering much scientific data (the forecast websites sometimes are slow to update), the forecast for tonight is moderate to active due to the CME from 31 Aug. Arrival time is tonight. Let’s get right to the good stuff….the aurora will be seen sometime tonight in areas of no clouds from latitude 55 degrees up…
