The aurora is overhead and also on the horizon in the Fairbanks area. Mainly a green band, but pinks are also visible. Surprise event, no doubt, since the forecast was quiet. Kp 1.
Tonight’s forecast is quiet, as is Saturday night and Sunday night as of this post. Only quiet displays may or may not be seen on the horizon in the Fairbanks area, and possibly nothing in the Anchorage areas. “Quiet” means not a big show, in fact a very small show, or no show at all.
Anchorage is reporting good auroras. Wasilla, Eagle River, Talkeetna, Denali, and also Nome. Kp 3. Solid clouds in Fairbanks–again.
