It has been quiet often this week, and tonight is no exception. A low on the horizon aurora can be seen in the Fairbanks area, but there are also a lot of clouds to go along with it. A poor night for viewing. Kp 0.

Faint auroras can be seen overhead in the Fairbanks areas. Kp 0. Plenty of pretty stars. Nothing more is expected tonight, but surprises do happen. Last night was so grand. It lasted for hours, and even Europe had a chance to see the show. By the time it got dark in Alaska again, the effects…

Last night’s surprise show in Fairbanks was quite a treat. It lasted from about 1am to 4am. It was a Kp 0. As of this post, the Kp is 2, but it is cloudy. This photo was taken in Two Rivers, near Fairbanks. [photo deleted]
The aurora is out big now, at Kp 0, in the Fairbanks areas. So much for a quiet night! The forecast for tomorrow night (Tues night/Wed morning) is unsettled to active, and the next night, active.
