Auroras predicted in a few days

Auroras predicted in a few days!! A quick layman’s interpretation of the numbers: When there is no auroral activity, the numbers say 01/01/01, so these higher numbers are exciting. The aurora should be visible in all of Alaska, most of Canada, and some parts of the upper US. Middle latitudes mean lower Canada and the upper US, and high latitudes mean upper Canada and Alaska.

Via NOAA Space Weather: Geomagnetic Storm watch has officially been issued by the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Minor Geomagnetic Storming in response to at least one incoming Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) will be possible on November 12 and 13.

WATCH: Geomagnetic Storm Category G1 Predicted
Highest Storm Level Predicted by Day:
Nov 11: None (Below G1) Nov 12: G1 (Minor) Nov 13: G1 (Minor)
THIS SUPERSEDES ANY/ALL PRIOR WATCHES IN EFFECT
Potential Impacts: Area of impact primarily poleward of 60 degrees Geomagnetic Latitude.
Induced Currents – Weak power grid fluctuations can occur.
Spacecraft – Minor impact on satellite operations possible.
Aurora – Aurora may be visible at high latitudes, i.e., northern tier of the U.S. such as northern Michigan and Maine.
