There will be an aurora tonight with a Kp estimate of 4. Yellowknife is showing the aurora on the webcam already (710pm AK time). We don’t know what time the aurora will come out. It could come out at any time.

Although the cam is continuing to light up, the ice fog and haze in the city is just too much too see any activity. I do see stars, but no green, only light pollution reflecting off the fog. If you are away from the city of Fairbanks and North Pole, you may be able to…

The aurora can be seen to the north, however it is hazy around Fairbanks and North Pole, and the light pollution may reflect off of it. If you are away from town or in an area with complete darkness you may be able to see the aurora. Looking good on both Salmon cam and aurorawebcam.com

We have aurora in areas of no clouds….however, clouds are covering most of North Pole, Fox, Two Rivers, Fairbanks….Check and see if you have clouds or not. You may see the aurora overhead in the north, or lower on the horizon in south central AK.  Kp level is a 2.
